About Us
BNR French Polishing is a small business, and we subscribe to a quality
rather than quantity policy in all areas: and this includes our staff. Our French
Polishers are time served professionals, and have experience both in this
country and abroad.
We are experts in a traditional craft, and have
therefore found it prudent to continue some of the old traditions and work practices
that served well in the past. In this line we run an apprentice scheme,
and recently our first trainee has completed his apprenticeship. We run this scheme
since we believe it is important to protect the future of the trade, as well
as guaranteeing the quality of our staff.
BNR French Polishing was
founded by Robin Board, who has fine cabinet making and associated skills in
his blood. Father, Roger Board, is a wood carver and designer of international
repute; and grandfather Harold was also a highly skilled woodcarver and cabinet
maker.
Robin learnt his trade initially as a boy in the family workshops,
and then in a full apprenticeship. He has carried out projects in Hampton
Court Palace, Windsor Castle and The London Mansion House. In addition, Robin
is also a fully-qualified Construction Manager, having also worked for Costain
Construction; giving him all-round knowledge of building practices and Health
& Safety. |
